This Laser Drone Can Shoot Balloons
FIRST AND FOREMOST: DO NOT TRY THIS! THE VIDEO WAS CREATED BY A PROFESSIONAL WEARING PROTECTIVE GOGGLES.
Patrick Priebe lives in Wupperthal Germany and operates an online store for laser gadgets. He also flies drones for fun.
So one day, he decided to combine his passions and create a small laser drone that can shoot out a semi-powerful beam. The setup he created has the option to trigger the laser from the transmitter. The laser he attached to the drone is not exactly an intergalactic spaceship destroyer, but has enough power to burn a hole on a piece of paper and of course would ruin someones eyesight if flashed directly into the eye.
It has a similar effect to a magnifying glass focused to one spot (and kids used to fry ants with, god forbid). That is why Patrick is wearing protective goggles throughout the experiment. Because I believe this is not a silly stunt as it is performed by professionals knowledgable about laser technology and drones and it proves what the combination of these two technologies is capable of. He has to maneuver his craft to point at the balloon and trigger the laser at right time. I for one would probably enjoy playing with this real life laser tag game if there was a harmless version available. Maybe an idea for someone looking to create a new multicopter product?
See the laser drone for yourself and again, do not try to replicate this experiment!
A laser and drone enthusiast from Germany decided to create a laser drone and pop balloons with it.
