DJI Spark Owners Must Update Firmware
There couldn’t be a bigger shock than a hobbyist that is excited to take off with their DJI Spark drone only to find out that it refuses to launch. Unfortunately, due to some added safety precautions and updates, this will be the case for many if they don’t update their firmware by September 1, 2017. So in order to keep your drone from flying off into the sunset or quickly crashing to the ground, check out the reasons why this firmware update is the best choice when it comes to keeping your drone out of harm’s way.
DJI has announced that their new mandatory firmware update is designed to improve product reliability and also maximize flight safety with their drone. Apparently this recent issue has stemmed from the battery management and power supply, and although it isn’t a widespread issue, they are taking the approach to push the firmware update to all devices in an effort to lessen future potential occurrences.
Mid-flight malfunctions can be scary for all drone operators from novice to expert. Not knowing if your expensive device will come tumbling down in a moment’s notice or will completely verify from the path or landing that you’re wanting it to take can definitely cause a lot of panic. As drones gain popularity, electricians work diligently to prevent mishaps like these from happening, therefore increasing the amount of consumers that would like to purchase them and also retaining those customers that are already part of their current market.
This glitch has been a painful slip-up to the Chinese drone giant, but one very interesting feature that DJI is in talks about is creating a set of glasses that will allow the pilot to see the view of their drone as they are flying it! This is a very new concept and there isn’t a set date yet as to when the company will roll out this new feature. This firmware update that is required by September 1st can easily be achieved by using the DJI Go 4 app while in Internet service or by using the DJI Assistant 2 desktop app when you’re plugged into a computer. Either way, all DJI Spark owners must make sure to have that updated by September 1st since the drone will not take off until it is complete. This is for the safety of your drone and to ensure you enjoy your flight. DJI has gone on record to say that having a reliable product and and being able to maximize flight safety are their top priorities.
