I worked as a still photographer the last 10 years of my life and a few months ago I decided to venture into the world of air video so I decided to buy a drone, the Phantom 4 from DJI.

 

I decided to open a youtube channel FabianBPhoto Drone where I could share the videos, from places that for my work or rest, I visited and give me the opportunity to perform; This is the result so far.

 

One of the first videos I made to publish on my YouTube channel was on the outskirts of the city of Bogotá, Colombia; I visited the Tequendama Waterfall and the Sisga Dam where I risk flying above and below a metal bridge against any recommendation of experienced drone pilots. This is for now the most visited video on my channel.


When I had a little more experience I traveled to San Andres Island in the Colombian Caribbean to be able to fly over a small cay called Johnny, a spectacular site for everything related to nautical sports, diving and rest. My first concern was to fly over the sea and with strong winds that could cause problems in controlling the drone, but I had no major problems and the Phantom 4 behaved very well.

The next challenge for the Phantom 4 was to fly from a moving boat in the Pacific Ocean in search of humpback whales, so I traveled to the department of Chocó, to a region called Bahía Solano where I rented a boat that would take me offshore in search of These beautiful mammals. Taking off the drone in a boat with carp and in the middle of a strong swell was not easy, but did not anticipate that the sun would generate much brightness in my Ipad and it would be almost impossible to see exactly the screen to recognize where the whales were, Of going to various speed nodes with a strong swell that makes you jump out of your chair with each new wave. So if you have a shot in a lot of sunlight, I recommend having the necessary accessories to not ruin the plans. Here is my result.


Back to my city I made a stop in a small town called El Peñol where there is a beautiful place called the same name and where there is a rock that you can climb to enjoy the beautiful view.


To finish, I just returned from a trip around Europe that I used to fly my drone whenever I had the opportunity, I started in Barcelona, Spain and then Paris, France where bad weather and my first accident did not allow me to take more shots. The next video I will publish this week will be Munich, Germany and I will continue to publish every week a new one from each of the cities I visited and where I had the opportunity to take off.

He trabajado como fotógrafo de foto fija los últimos 10 años de mi vida y hace unos meses decidí incursionar en el mundo del video aéreo por lo que decidí comprar un drone, el Phantom 4 de la empresa DJI.

Decidí abrir un canal de youtube FabianBPhoto Drone donde pudiera compartir los videos, de lugares que por mi trabajo o descanso, visito y que me dieran la oportunidad de realizar; este es el resultado hasta ahora.
Uno de los primeros videos que hice para publicar en mi canal de YouTube lo realicé en las afueras de la ciudad de Bogotá, Colombia; visité la Cascada del Salto de Tequendama y la Represa del Sisga donde me arriesgue a volar por arriba y debajo de un puente metálico en contra de cualquier recomendación de pilotos de drone con experoencia. Este es por ahora el video más visitado en mi canal.


Cuando tenía un poco más de experiencia viajé a la Isla de San Andrés en el Caribe colombiano para poder volar sobre un pequeño cayo llamado Johnny, un sitio espectacular para todo lo relacionado con deportes náuticos, submarinismo y descanso. Mi primera preocupación era volar sobre el mar y con vientos fuertes que pudieran causar problemas a la hora de controlar el drone, pero no tuve mayores problemas y el Phantom 4 se comporto muy bien.

El siguiente desafío para el Phantom 4 fue volar desde una lancha en movimiento en el mar pacífico en busca de ballenas jorobadas, así que viajé al departamento del Chocó, a una región llamada Bahía Solano donde alquilé un bote que me llevara mar adentro en busca de estos hermosos mamíferos. Despegar el drone dentro de un bote con carpa y en medio de un fuerte oleaje no fue nada fácil, pero no prever que el sol generaría mucho brillo en mi Ipad y seria casi imposible ver con exactitud la pantalla para reconocer donde estaban las ballenas, ademas de ir a varios nudos de velocidad con un oleaje fuerte que te hace saltar de tu silla con cada nueva ola. Así que si tienen pensado alguna toma en condiciones de mucho sol recomiendo tener los accesorios necesarios para no arruinar los planos. He aquí mi resultado.


De regreso a mi ciudad hice una parada en un pequeño pueblo llamado El Peñol donde hay un hermoso lugar llamado del mismo nombre y donde hay una roca a la que se puede subir para disfrutar de la hermosa vista.


Para finalizar, acabo de regresar de un viaje por Europa que aproveche para volar mi drone cada vez que tuve la oportunidad, empecé por Barcelona, España y luego Paris, Francia donde el mal tiempo y mi primer accidente no me permitieron realizar mas tomas. El proximo video que publicaré esta semana será el de Munich, Alemania y seguiré publicando todas las semana uno nuevo de cada una de las ciudades que visité y en las que tuve la oportunidad de despegar.
